Munir El Haddadi has struggled to find game time at Camp Nou.

Munir El Haddadi has turned down the chance to renew his contract with Barcelona and is set to leave for free in the summer, sources have confirmed to ESPN FC.

Barca had hoped to extend the striker’s terms beyond the end of the season to avoid losing him for free but they were unable to grant assurances over playing time.

Munir, 23, considered Barca’s proposal but, in the end, he decided that his future would be better served elsewhere.

The Catalan side are open to selling in January, but sources said Munir is likely to wait until the summer, with interest from Spanish, English and Italian clubs. Spanish radio station COPE, meanwhile, claim that Munir has already struck a deal to join Sevilla at the end of the campaign.

Following loan spells with Valencia and Alaves in La Liga, Munir returned to Barcelona at the start of the season to provide cover for Luis Suarez following Paco Alcacer’s move to Borussia Dortmund. He’s made 11 appearances in all competitions so far, scoring two goals, but the majority of his appearances have come as a substitute.

Munir first joined Barcelona in 2011 and after progressing through the youth teams he made his first-team debut in 2014 under Luis Enrique. In total, he’s played 56 games, scoring 12 goals.
