Arsenal’s fog-bound Premier League 2 game against West Ham produced some hauntingly stunning images.

Arsenal were in Premier League 2 action against West Ham on Monday night, only for the match to be abandoned at half-time due to weather conditions for which “adverse” is an understatement.

The Gunners went in 3-0 up at the break but a blanket of impenetrable fog in Borehamwood meant that officials decided to call the game off before the start of the second period.

The poor conditions actually gave the encounter the air of a kit-launch photoshoot or an 80s music video, complete with excessive back-lighting.

Players such as Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Jordi Osei-Tutu, in particular, appeared suspended in a kind of strange, ethereal limbo.

Impressively atmospheric, though not exactly conducive to a decent game of football.
