AS Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim remains unmoved by speculation linking star striker Kylian Mbappé with a move to Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid.
The 18-year-old forward, who plundered 15 goals and eight assists as Monaco swept to their first French top-flight title in 17 years last term, has been heavily linked with a big-money move away from the Stade Louis II, but Jardim has batted away the speculation, saying: “I’m not going to talk about conjecture.”
Monaco have been busy in the transfer market this summer, with the signings of Youri Tielemans from Anderlecht, Terence Kongolo from Feyenoord and Barcelona youngster Jordi Mboula more than off-set – at least in financial terms – by the sales of Benjamin Mendy, Bernardo Silva and Tiemoué Bakayoko to Manchester City and Chelsea respectively.

“A leading director of a Portuguese club, with whom I had a meeting, once said to me: ‘The transfer market is not just made to strengthen your team, but also to weaken your rivals,'” recalled the Jardim. “I think that’s a strategy used by many, but I’m staying calm.”
Monaco face Dijon FCO on Sunday having started the defence of their Ligue 1 Conforama title with a 3-2 win at home to Toulouse FC last Friday.
