FC Nantes coach Claudio Ranieri has seen the club add to their Brazilian contingent with the signing of midfielder Andrei Girotto from Chapecoense.
The 25-year-old has joined Nantes on a four-year deal after a brief stint at Chapecoense, and his arrival provides coach Claudio Ranieri with an extra option in midfield following the departure of Guillaume Gillet to Olympiacos.
“I am pleased to be here. Nantes are a big club. I also contacted several players in the French league who told me I was making the right decision,” Girotto told Nantes’ official website.
“My first impressions are very good, looking at the infrastructure. It is a great honour to work with the coach.”
Girotto, who attended Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Olympique de Marseille at the Stade de la Beaujoire, has also previously played for Palmeiras and spent last year on loan in Japan with Kyoto Sanga. He joins compatriots Diego Carlos and Lima in the Nantes dressing room.
